On Monday 02 March, AFNU, in partnership with the Thucydides Centre, organized a major debate on "The United Nations and Internet Governance". 

- The first panel discussion focused on "the institutional role of the United Nations in Internet governance"

- The second panel discussion focused on "The United Nations and Internet Governance: Normative and Policy Issues".

The AFNU organized, in partnership with the CERI (Sciences Po), a conference on the theme "The Marrakech Pact and the Rightsless", moderated by Professor Guillaume Devin. The speakers were Ambassador Pascal Teixeira Da Silva, Migration Officer at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Withol De Wenden, Professor at Sciences Po and Emmanuel Decaux, Professor Emeritus of the University of Paris II and member of the AFNU Executive Committee.

Mr Pierre Ménat, former Ambassador to Romania, Poland and the Netherlands, specialist in European affairs, representing the French Association for the United Nations (AFNU), spoke at the opening ceremony of the Sciences Po Lille International MUN Model UN on Friday 28 February at the Préfecture du Nord in the company of Mr Pierre Mathiot, Director of Sciences Po Lille and Ms Irène Peucelle, Regional Councillor for the Hauts-de-France. The Ambassador was able to exchange with the students on European issues.

Ambassador Yves Aubin de la Messuzière, former Director of the North Africa and Middle East section of the Quai d'Orsay, representative of the Association Française pour les Nations Unies (AFNU), participated in the opening ceremony of the Model UN of the RIMUN association of Sciences Po Reims students at the Reims City Hall in the presence of Mr Frédéric Mion, Director of Sciences Po and Ms Lauren Bleakney, Head of Political Affairs at the US Embassy in Paris. Ambassador Aubin de la Messuzière was able to exchange with Sciences Po students about the crisis in Yemen and the future of the United Nations.

​Claire Brisset, Vice-president of the French Association for the United Nations, Director of Information at UNICEF for 12 years, spoke with Sciences Po Lille students at a conference organized by UNICEF Sciences Po Lille on the subject "The rights of the child, an unfinished construction", through the history of the concept, its progress and the current tensions around this issue.

The French Association for the United Nations accompanied, as part of their UN Academy, HEC students to a series of meetings. At UNESCO, Ms. Roger-Lacan Ambassador of France, Ms. Arrou responsible for communication and Ms. Anatole-Gabriel responsible for UNESCO World Heritage sites in Europe and North America. At the Quai d'Orsay, Mr. Raulet and Ms. Medroumi from the Department of Communication and Press of the Ministry, the Ambassadors of France MM. Ripert and Le Roy, and Mrs. Carmona, deputy director of the Asia Pacific region and member of the association Femmes et Diplomatie. On human rights: Professor E. Decaux, member of UN and European human rights bodies and Maître William Bourdon, lawyer specializing in the defense of Human Rights. Finally, Bernard Miyet, president of the AFNU, shared his carrier between public communication and the direction of UN peacekeeping operations.

Bernard Miyet, President of the French Association for the United Nations, spoke to the students at a conference organized by the students of Sciences Po Lille, on the issues of France's influence abroad, representation at the UN, peacekeeping operations, cultural affairs, etc. This conference was an opportunity to address many themes related to multilateral diplomacy and foreign affairs. 

November 19th, 2019

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the International Convention for the Rights of the Child, the French Association for the United Nations-AFNU, UN France and Monaco and UNICEF France organized the screening of the documentary "Demain est à nous (Tomorrow is ours)", in the presence of its director Gilles de Maistre, as part of a Cine-ONU at the Studio des Ursulines.

Septembre 20-22, 2019

French Association for the United Nations-AFNU was pleased to participate in the preparatory meeting for the conference "Peace, Security, and Youth" which will take place in June 2020 organized by DGVN - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Die Vereinten Nationen e.V. in Berlin. During these three days of meetings, several United Nations Associations and Youth Representatives of Europe contributed to the content of this future conference.

May 19-21th, 2019

A meeting of WFUNA - Europe was held in Rome on 19/20/21 May 2019 at the invitation of SIOI (Italian Society for International Organisation). It was attended by 16 delegations. Our Secretary-General, Richard Narich, and our Treasurer, Jérémy Mercier, represented the AFNU on this occasion. Two series of meetings were held: the WFUNA session itself on the one hand and the WFUNA "Youth" session on the other.

April 26th, 2019

Richard Narich, Secretary-General of AFNU, received on 26 April in Paris at his request, Mr. Royan Dayaratne, member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Secretary-General of the Sri Lankan Association for the United Nations. This visit provided an opportunity for initial contact between AFNU and its Sri Lankan counterpart in the hope of developing their relations in the coming months.

October 17-21th, 2018

Our Secretary General, Ambassador Richard Narich participated in the 42nd Plenary Assembly of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from 17 to 21 October 2018 with delegations from 33 countries participating.

This plenary meeting, which concluded with a "Punta Cana Declaration", provided an opportunity to review the Federation's activities since its last meeting three years ago in Vancouver, and to draw lines for the next three years under the leadership of President Leonel Fernandez (former President of the Republic), who succeeds Ambassador Park Soo-gil of the Republic of Korea.

The work of the 3rd Youth Forum was held at the same time as the Plenary Assembly, which allowed fruitful exchanges between delegations.

March 20th, 2018

AFNU Secretary General, Richard Narich, accompanied by Ambassador G. Chouraqui, met on March 20, Ms. Zhang Dan, Vice President and General Manager of UNA - China, on the occasion of a meeting while traveling to Paris.
This meeting gave rise to a respective presentation of the two associations and made it possible to examine possibilities for future cooperation.
