What French and European diplomacy towards China ?
Jean-Maurice RIPERT, Ambassadeur de France, former Ambassador to China and member
of the AFNU Executive Board, took part in the radio programme “Débat du jour” on Radio
France Internationale (RFI) on Wednesday, September 2. The programme was broadcasted
just after the Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi had ended his European Tour.

Isabelle Anatole-Gabriel, member of the AFNU Executive Board took part in Le Temps du débat, a France Culture radio programme, this 27th of August. The programme was about Memory Heritage, and drew a comparison between France and Turkey.

Call for a world ceasefire
M. Jérémy Mercier, Deputy Secretary General of AFNU, explains in this article the
importance of the call launched by the UN Secretary General for an immediate world
ceasefire.
The “worst is to come”. The Secretary General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres,
launched a call for an “immediate and world ceasefire” on the 23rd of March. He welcomed
the decision of the belligerents to support his call. He asked for words “peace”, “international
peace”, “diplomacy” and “ceasefire” could, eventually, to be translated into concrete acts on
ground.

Former diplomat, former advisor to President Jacques Chirac from 2000 to 2002, Permanent Representative of France to the Security Council and Head of the French Permanent Mission to the United Nations from 2002 to 2007. From 2007 to 2011, he is Ambassador of France in Italy.
Interview with Nicolas Rivière (November 2015)
Director of Political Affairs and Security at the Quai D'Orsay since 2014, he began his career at the Department in charge of the United Nations, International Organizations and Human Rights. He then joined the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations in New York. From 2011 to 2014, he is Director of the United Nations and International Organizations Department at the Quai D’Orsay.
Interview with Bernard Miyet (November 2015)
Former French diplomat, he started his career at the Department in charge of the United Nations and International Organizations in June 1976. He was then posted in Geneva as second counsellor at the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations. He became director of the staff of the Secretary of State in charge of communication techniques in 1981.Consul General of France in Los Angeles in 1986, he became Deputy Director of the cultural, scientific and technical Department of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1989. He succeeded Mr. Kofi Annan as Deputy Secretary General at the Department of peace-keeping operations until 2000. He has been President of AFNU since 2013. Bernard Miyet also held several positions in the field of media and culture.

Special Advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and founding President of UNITAID, he was several times Minister of Jacques Chirac (Culture, Health, Foreign Affairs). Cardiologist, he is also a professor at the Medical School of Harvard since January 2016.
Interview of Aurélie Motta-Rivey (November 2015)
Director at Tilder , a communication agency, since October 2011, she is also Vice-President of AFNU. She worked at the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2007 and became Spokesperson for the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations from 2007 to 2009. She also served as advisor in press and communication at the Secretary of State for the Family and Solidarity from 2009 to 2010 and then at the Department of professional and vocational training from 2010 to 2011.
Interview with Michel Rocard (October 2015)
Great socialist and French political figure, Michel Rocard was Prime Minister of François Mitterrand from 1988 to 1991. He also served as Ambassador of France in charge of international negotiations for the Arctic and Antarctic areas from 2009 to his death.
